Design Events: Offset Sheffield

offset-sheffield

This weekend, Offset will be heading to the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield for a weekend of presentations, panel discussions and interviews. The inspiring and educational design conference will feature 60 speakers across October 21st and 22nd and is part of the Sheffield Catalyst Festival of Creativity, which runs until November. Offset also marks the start of Sheffield’s Design Week (22nd to 30th October) featuring a variety of exhibitions, product launches and open studios.

Offset Sheffield provides a great opportunity for those within the design and creative industries to enhance skills, learn new methods and engage in key industry debates with fellow practitioners. There are two stages, the main stage and a second smaller stage, both offering 60 speakers and 32 hours of interesting speakers, interviews, debate and discussion.

The Main Stage lineup is looking very exciting, with the likes of Graphic Designer & Typographer Wolfgang Weingart, Award Winning UK Illustrator Laura Carlin, Designer & Art Director Marta Veludo, Alexander Nowak from global advertising agency Droga5, Jody Hudson-Powell of Pentagram and Anita Murphy & Rory O’Connor of the Award Winning Company The Creativity Hub.

The second stage is powered by Squarespace, and will provide a more intimate setting for one on one interviews and panel discussions. Highlights include panel discussions on Sheffield’s distinctive cultural and creative ecosystem, a presentation on the history of G.F Smith from the beginnings through to their recent rebrand and a panel discussion on how to kickstart your creative career.

After a busy day of debate and discussion, delegates can celebrate at the afterparty on Friday 21st October. Offset have teamed up with Roco, a local creative space with design studios, beer shop and café bar. Attendees can dance the night away and enjoy a complimentary drink.

For more information and to purchase tickets, head to the Offset website. Tickets are priced from £60 for students and recent graduates, whilst professional tickets are priced from £90 for a group day ticket.
