By the Sea – Bournemouth’s Creative Industries

By The Sea

Earlier this year we were involved in creating the branding for a new project, By The Sea. The project is part of the regeneration of Boscombe and aims to fuel Bournemouth’s creative industries by creating jobs and encouraging economic growth by attracting businesses to the area. As this project was on our doorstep in Boscombe, we couldn’t resist getting involved. Head to our portfolio page to read more about how we got involved in the project.

The main hub of By The Sea is The Old School House in Boscombe, here you can find studio, exhibition and selling space that allows anyone from individuals, start ups and established businesses with the facilities to allow creativity to flourish. It is also providing a space for a creative community to develop in the heart of Boscombe. The Old School House is also hosting a number of events during the Great Exhibition of Boscombe, which we posted about recently.

Another aspect of By The Sea are pop ups. In recent years pop up shops have become incredibly popular and it is easy to see why. Small businesses and start ups can test their ideas, empty commercial spaces on the high street are brought back to life and the general public are given the opportunity to discover new and exciting products.

By The Sea is playing an exciting role in the redevelopment and regeneration of Boscombe, but also more widely in Bournemouth. The town is firmly establishing itself as a creative destination for individuals and businesses both locally and nationally. There are so many different opportunities for people to show off their creativity and develop, from events such as Bournemouth Arts By The Sea Festival to the courses on offer at Arts University Bournemouth. This is an exciting time for the creative community and it will be interesting to see what By The Sea will get up to next.
