The ‘Why’

 

Formed in 2007, Virgin Media needed to draw together colleagues from numerous company backgrounds and build loyalty and teamwork in the new organisation. With our help, in-house publication One magazine started life, initially as a digital publication. But we know there’s nothing like sitting down with a coffee and flicking through a magazine, especially if you’re working at a screen all day – and so the print magazine was born.

The Brief

 

From the outset, our brief was to echo the look and friendly tone of a consumer magazine. But while One Magazine is colourful and appealing, we make sure the design of each issue reflects Virgin’s style guidelines and brand values. It’s instantly recognisable as a Virgin publication.

The Creative

 

The magazine’s lively approach to internal communications means that we at Global can flex our creative muscles! Our ideas have included eye-catching covers using sparkle highlights and textured finishes, while the Easter issue featured chocolate-scented scratch’n’sniff and at Christmas, a press-out card ski chalet gave Virgin colleagues the chance to bring some festive cheer to their work areas.
